A vacancy is available for a Postdoc in the field of chlor-alkaline and alkaline water electrolysis within the group Sustainable Process Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), The Netherlands
Research group
In the Sustainable Process Engineering group, we carry out research on electrolysis in alkaline medium, focusing on alkaline water electrolysis, anion-exchange membrane water electrolysis and chlor-alkali electrolysis. In the research group we carry out research related to three key aspects of these technologies, namely efficiency, flexibility and durability. We closely work with industrial partners to ensure that the generated insights from our research will be used to optimize large-scale electrolyzers. Postdoc position on lithium chlor-alkaline and membraneless alkaline water electrolysis
The Postdoc position will cover two projects. The first project is on lithium chlor-alkali electrolysis and covers the production of lithium hydroxide and chlorine from lithium chloride. The second project is on membraneless water electrolysis and will investigate whether it is possible to carry out alkaline electrolysis without a membrane with forced convection.
We are looking for a talented, motivated and enthusiastic Postdoc with a background in chemical engineering. We’re searching for an excellent candidate with proven capabilities that likes working with demanding laboratory setups and enjoys supervising BSc and MSc students. Knowledge, experience and a affinity with chemical reactor engineering and electrochemistry are highly appreciated.
