Spara jobbet

You perform defect analysis and contribute to defect improvement projects.

The Platform & Operations Efficiency Team (POET) has responsibility to drive speed of learning in imec’s 200 & 300mm Si pathfinding and platformization activities and to create and maintain stable modules and flows. This needs to happen for imec’s research test vehicles and critical customer projects in many interesting fields like logic, memory, interconnect, 3D, Si photonics, sensors, MEMS and life science applications.

The Defect Analysis & Reduction Team (DART) is part of POET and is driving defect improvements in the 200 & 300mm FABs such that defects are controlled within imec’s program’s needs, whether that is for research success, platform repeatability or LVP yield. To improve and control defects, it is important to find defects first and then classify them based on size, source, impact, severity, etc.,.

What you will do

  • You regularly/irregularly report on progress both internally to your integration team members and externally to other engineering teams.
  • You follow up on internal customer lots and make sure those lots are inspected, reviewed and analyzed in time.
  • You document defects and root causes along the way and maintain a defect library with the other DART members
  • Assist or perform defect review on optical or SEM inspection tools in the cleanroom using defect result files.
  • You come up with ideas to improve and increase the accuracy of defect detection and classification of the devices imec develops.
  • Overall, your contributions through your defect analysis and classification will help to improve product, processes, and equipment.
  • Together with integration and process engineers, you investigate process and/or process-related issues to find and solve the root cause of defects.
