The NADEL Center for Development and Cooperation, hosted by the Development Economics Group, conducts empirical and experimental research. A key objective of our research is to develop sustainable solutions to poverty reduction and to improve the design and implementation of development cooperation. The Center for Development and Cooperation is offering a research assistant position in Development Economics, starting April 1st 2019 (or later) for at least 6 months.

Research Assistant in Development Economics (80-100%)
The research assistant will support us with empirical research in development and population economics. Tasks may include: (1) data checking, cleaning, and merging data; (2) implementing empirical identification strategies in Stata; (3) reporting of results in regression tables and figures; (4) writing up results for publications; (5) preparating slides for teaching; and (6) searching and reviewing literature.
The ideal candidate should be experienced with applied micro-econometrics using Stata (but experience with R is also sufficient), and be highly proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A Master's degree in economics, statistics, or a related field is preferred, but ambitious candidates with a Bachelor degree in a related discipline are also eligible and welcome to apply. The candidate should have excellent communication skills in order to work effectively in an international team. Applicants must speak and write English fluently. Knowledge of German and/or French is helpful, but not required.
