Then join our team to use machine learning for better scene understanding.
Your task will be the conceptual design of algorithms that allow an encompassing digital representation of photographed scenes. This includes the retrieval of 3D geometry, optical material properties and illumination conditions. By means of machine learning and neuronal networks, you solve open challenges in computer vision and multi-camera systems. In collaboration with a team, you create prototype implementations, evaluate their performance and document the findings. Finally, based on identified user requirements, you optimize the systems and implementations for successful use in industry.
The Fraunhofer IIS »Audio and Media Technologies« division has been making its mark on media digitalization for over 30 years, developing pioneering standards such as MP3 and AAC. Motivated by this success, we aim to address new challenges in light-field image processing for media, communication, documentation, architecture and future automotive applications.
