You will be part of the research group CMST, an imec associated research lab at Ghent university.

YOUR TASKS

  • You will perform fundamental research at the Center for Microsystems Technology (www.cmst.be) at the Faculty of Engineering, department ELIS.
  • You will perfom research on microsystems, e-textiles, flexible printed electronics, stretchable electronics, biocompatible patches, wearables in the frame of different projects.
  • Your research tasks will include design, realisation, evaluation of microsystem technologies for the integration of electronics in wearables. Realise prototypes and further tune them in function of performance evaluations.
  • Monitor state-of-the-art of e-textile / wearable / stretchable / printed electronics developments and find opportunities for new research topics.
  • Take the research lead in research projects (Flemish, European, bilateral, etc.).
  • Come up with new ideas for further research.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate in engineering, electronics engineering or textile engineering.
  • You have experience with research on e-textiles / printed electronics / wearables including design, fabrication, reliability testing, failure analysis.
  • You have experience with working on research projects with industry.
  • You have experience in disseminating research results, by publishing papers in peer reviewed journals and presenting conference papers at international conferences.
  • You can read, write and speak fluently in English.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 24 months, starting earliest in October-November 2024.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
