Principal Clinical Investigator in Immuno-Oncology, Early Drug Development Center (DITEP), Gustave Roussy

Job Description

A new wave of Immunotherapeutics drugs is coming and its development requires specific expertise in the field of clinical research, clinical immunology, together with translational research. Gustave Roussy, is looking for a physician scientist to lead early phases of drug development in the field of immuno-oncology. 

The mission of this principal investigator is to contribute to the clinical development of new immunotherapeutics. The candidate will be responsible for 1/  enhancing phase I/II clinical trials testing immunotherapeutics including but not limited to antibody-based  and Cell -based immunotherapeutics, 2/ enhanced interactions with the pharmaceutical and biotech industry to attract new exploratory drugs to Gustave Roussy, 3/ the development of academic first-in-human trials together with  intramural- and extra-mural academics teams, 4/ contributing to a local Flagship research program on mechanisms of action of new drugs, 5/ training young oncologists. 

The applicant will report to the Head of Early drug development Department. Metrics used for the evaluation of the activity will include number of new trials opened at GR as investigator and PI, number of patients included in phase I trials testing IO compounds in the DITEP, number of papers and talks in international conferences, public / private partnerships, contribution to the translational research projects run by intramural scientists. 

Profile of the applicant

The applicant must be an MD or MD PhD with experience in immuno-oncology, clinical and translational research. 

Speaking French at the time of job start is not a requirement, but the applicant will have to learn within six months after arrival

The Applicant must be ready to start the job no later than January 2025

A particular attention will be paid to previous experience with phase I trials and I-O compounds, number of high level publications, previous experience in mentoring and education. The committee will decide whether it’s appropriate to interview some applicants.
