Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research and innovation.

The Data Science department develops research and teaching activities in the interdisciplinary field of data science, in close interaction with industrial and societal issues (health and the environment). Its research activities are part of the Lab-STICC (UMR CNRS 6285) and LaTIM (UMR 1101 INSERM) laboratories.

Generic web search engines produce vast quantities of unreliable and untraceable results, leaving users seeking to explore a field of knowledge at a loss. La mètis' Rnest software solves part of the problem by providing users with reliable, traceable information.

On the other hand, technology-assisted learning (e-learning) is booming, but ve. Still, very little research exists on the algorithmic production of e-learning resources, and even less when they are based on information collected on the Web following users' requests.

In this context, the COGITAMUS project, funded by an institutional body and led by La mètis and IMT Atlantique, aims to integrate information collected from the Web and pre-processed by Rnest with e-learning methods to spontaneously obtain learning resources, and to monitor this learning at user level.

Under the functional responsibility of DECIDE team at Lab-STICC and in collaboration with members of the R&D team at La mètis, the main tasks of the position are:

  1. Aggregate information and knowledge bricks (BICs) extracted from the Rnest software into learning sessions, and monitor their transmission to a learner through man-machine interfaces and oculometric devices.
  2. Helping to co-construct BICs based on learning assessment.
  3. Integrate the results obtained into a predictive model of cognitive load and learning curve.
