We solicit applications for a postdoctoral position in Professor Himanshu Mishra’s research group (Interfacial Lab - https://interfaciallab.kaust.edu.sa).
This project lies at the intersection of physics and chemistry, with implications across various fields engineering. We are exploiting surface forces apparatus, atomic force microscopy, and molecular simulations to obtain quantitative insights into surface forces at interfaces of water confined between hydrophobic surfaces. Specifically, we want to understand how the solvent characteristics, such as nuclear quantum effects, hydrogen bonding percolation networks, and specific ion effects influence hydrophobic forces (magnitude and range)?
We expect the individual to be curiosity-driven, dedicated, and a team player; meticulous at planning experiments and hard-working; and possess strong scientific writing skills.
The position is ideal for a self-motivated creative researcher due to unparalleled infrastructure and possibilities to conduct experiments and explore collaborations within and outside KAUST. Our collaborators include Dr. Steve Donaldson (Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris), Professor Tod Pascal (UC San Diego), and Professor Clay Radke (UC Berkeley).
This application requires submission of a CV, as well as the names and contact details for at least two references.Läs mer
