The Research Group Occupational and Organizational Psychology & Professional Learning (O2L) studies the relationship between the individual and employment, with much attention for sustainable employment and quality of work. Research topics in O2L are diverse: Employability, job insecurity, burnout, conflict mediation, leadership, team learning... In addition, O2L invests in providing innovative education to students at both bachelor and master level.

Project

Employability is high on both the research and policy agenda, with much attention for individuals in more precarious forms of employment (e.g., temporary employment, part-time employment) or who cycle between employment and unemployment, and for individuals who are more distant from the labor market. Relevant questions concern both opportunities for employability-development and boundaries and constraints to such development. Employability and boundaries to employability within a specific group is the overall theme within this PhD. Within this broad theme, you have much room and autonomy to develop a specific focus, under the supervision of Prof. Nele De Cuyper. In addition, you also support educational activities (e.g., coaching, evaluation, administration,...).

Profile

  • You have a master degree in psychology or educational sciences, education and business sciences, social sciences or related disciplines, with excellent study results.
  • You have a keen interest in topics related to work, employment and the labor market.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You enjoy reading and writing, and you are eager to share your results in scientific outlets and to a broader audience.
  • You are independent, with excellent time management skills.

Offer

  • Full-time position for two years as an assistent with the possibility for renewal up to six years.
  • A challenging and international environment, with a high degree of autonomy and many opportunities for learning and development.
  • Remuneration in scale 43 of KU Leuven.
