Open position for a full-time, Dutch speaking tutor and study counselor in Philosophy (assistant)

The Institute of Philosophy consists of five research units. Depending on the choice of your PhD topic, you will be a member of one of them. You will also be a member of the Study Counselling Team of the Faculty of Law and Criminology, where you will be in charge of philosophy tutorials and other tasks.

Project

The successful candidate will write a PhD in philosophy, under supervision of one of the professors of the Institute of Philosophy. The successful candidate will also be a member of the Study Counselling Team of the Faculty of Law and Criminology. Tasks include: philosophy tutorials, giving advice about study choices, study processes and well-being, and examination ombuds service.  

In addition to these tasks, you can also be called in for assignments in the study and student counselling of the Institute.

Profile

• You have been awarded a degree of Research MA in Philosophy, Master of Philosophy (MPhil), MA in Philosophy (or a degree that the doctoral committee considers to be its equivalent). You meet all requirements to be admitted to the HIW’s PhD program. 
• You are interested in teaching and study counseling. Experience in teaching and student counseling is a plus.
• You master the English ánd Dutch language – both written and spoken – at a native speaker level. Your application will not be considered if you don't meet this condition. 

Offer

We offer a full-time employment as an assistant for a period of two years, twice renewable (salary scale 43). Start date: September 15, 2024.
