The Faculty of Business Administration and Information Sciences at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint, with effect from 1 April 2021, a Professor of:
General Business Studies, Marketing and E-Business (W2)
Candidates should hold an academic university degree in business administration or associated disciplines and a relevant doctoral degree. Relevant practical experience and publications are required in the fields of (digital) marketing, e-commerce/innovation management within service organisations and/or industry. Practical experience in the application of statistical methods is desirable.

Candidates must fulfil the requirements of employment set down in Section 35 of the State of Saxony-Anhalt’s Higher Education Act (“HSG LSA”). They must be prepared to undertake teaching activities on extra-occupational study programmes (several weekends per semester) and on professional development courses, to respond to requirements from other departments and to contribute to research. As the primary teaching language is German, candidates will need to offer German-language skills at the appropriate level (C2 or equivalent evidence of qualification).
It is intended that teaching will also be delivered through the medium of English.
The post-holder is expected to be actively involved in the work of university administration committees.
If the post-holder has not previously held a professorship, he or she will initially be employed on a probationary basis for three years in accordance with Section 38 of the HSG LSA. The level of remuneration will be in line with the conditions applicable to civil servants of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
