Job Title: Postdoctoral positions

Job description:

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences department (CBS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University has an opening for one full time Postdoctoral Fellows in the field of anaerobic and fermentation processes. The project team is seeking highly motivated candidates with a strong background in microbial biotechnology, with a strong experience on working with obligate and facultative anaerobes. A background in biochemistry, biostatistical and bioinformatic analysis is desirable. The postdoctoral fellows will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team addressing waste valorization to produce high added value compounds. 

Main Responsibilities :

The Postdoctoral Fellows will be expected to:

  • Plan and conduct research as part of the research team and contribute to designing, planning and implementing research activities and experiments, data collection and research results analyses and interpretation.
  • Produce technical reports
  • Contribute and supervise graduate (MSc and PhD) and undergraduate students.
  • Develop and implement collaborative research with different partners and networks.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed high impact scientific journals.
  • Develop research proposals for funding by potential national and international donors.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the direct supervisor.

Criteria of the candidate:

Candidates should hold a PhD degree on biotechnology, bioprocess, microbiology, or related fields, with a publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Very good proficiency in English is required. Understanding French is desired. The Postdoctoral fellows will work in close collaboration with researchers, doctoral and master students, and technicians.

  1. Recent PhD (less than 5 years) in in Bioprocess, microbiology or related fields.
  2. Strong background in microbial biotechnology with a focus on anaerobic processes.
  3. Knowledge in molecular biology, biostatistical analysis, and analytical methods is desirable.
  4. Experience in working with bioreactors
  5. Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct experimental trial and disseminate research results through publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  6. Aptitude for teamwork and problem solving.
  7. Excellent English proficiency. French understanding is desired.
  8. Organizational dexterity and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  9. Positive attitude in changing fast-paced environments.

Total Environ.); Journal Quartile (e.g., Q1); Journal I-F (e.g., FI2022 = 10.9); H-Index (e.g., H = 317); Publisher (e.g., Elsevier) and the Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  5. References: Include the contact information for three professional references who can vouch for your qualifications and potential as a researcher
