POSITION SUMMARY

We seek an experienced Lecturer/Associate Lecturer to help grow the Advertising team against the exciting background of Vietnam’s rapidly growing economy.  In response to sector trends, input from industry partners and as a result of a recent program review, we are seeking applicants with up-to-date experience in Digital and Social Media Communication, Engagement, and Advertising.

A flexible attitude and a range of skills related to the conceptualisation, execution and evaluation of advertising and communication courses is a must, as well as the capability and competence to teach and coordinate a range of

relevant courses. The appointee is expected to actively promote both the program and the School through membership of - and links to - academic and professional networks. The appointee will be expected to contribute to multiple programs within the School of Communication & Design including the forthcoming Bachelor of Digital Film & Video.

The appointee will be located at RMIT’s Saigon South campus and will be expected to travel to other RMIT Vietnam campuses as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Lecturer: PhD or equivalent relevant doctoral qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Associate Lecturer: we will consider an application from an emerging academic who is in the final stages of relevant doctoral study or an industry professional in this field. In this instance, a relevant completed master’s degree from a recognised institution is required.

Up-to-date experience in Digital and Social Media Communication and Advertising specifically creative advertising and copywriting

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (academic, with no skill less than 6.5) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines). 
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.

WORK PERMIT

As an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ related experience.
