The Laboratory for Future Electronics (www.tut.fi/lfe) has 2-4 open positions in the field of Printed Stretchable Electronics. The positions are open for various levels based on the background of the successful applicants: Postdoctoral Researcher, Project Manager, Doctoral Student and Research Assistant (MSc thesis worker).
Stretchable Electronics will provide an unobtrusive way to integrate electronics on textile clothing or the fabrication of disposable patches, like smart bandages for medical and sport sectors. The work will focus on the one (or more) of the following topics:
The positions of Postdoctoral Researcher, Project Manager and Doctoral Student will be filled for a fixed-term period of two years, commencing in September 2018, unless otherwise agreed.
The position of Research Assistant (MSc Thesis worker) will be filled for a fixed-term period of eight months commencing in September 2018, unless otherwise agreed.
The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance level in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the positions are placed on the job demands level as follows:

The positions require university studies in a field relevant to the research area in question, e.g. electronics, electronics materials, material science, physics, or chemistry. Good English language skills (oral and written) are considered essential. Ability to work, cooperate and communicate in a multicultural team and to interact with our research partners is important.
Specific requirements for each level:
Postdoctoral Researcher: The successful applicant must have a doctoral degree from a relevant field.
Project Manager: The successful applicant must have a Master's degree or equivalent higher university degree.
Doctoral student: The successful applicant must have a Master's degree or equivalent higher university degree is required. The successful candidate must also either already be a PhD student at Tampere University of Technology or apply for post-graduate studies at the university. (More information on the admission process and requirements) Also, the candidate must have the competence and motivation to successfully pursue postgraduate studies and complete a doctoral degree.
Research Assistant: The successful applicant should have completed at least 75% of the major study block, and should be ready to do the MSc thesis. Previous experience in laboratory research environment will be appreciated.
