The tenured professor will provide courses in the field of labor sciences, focused on current transformations in social policies, regarding decisive themes: the transformations of employment and social protection systems as well as social work occupations, interactions between public social policies and employment policies, professional groups and social dialogue, the challenges of continuous education policies. It should contribute to research in the field of the sociology of work, employment and professional relations.
The content of the teaching load may be reviewed on a regular basis. No later than three years after recruitment, the charge will consist of four 24-hour courses. The following two courses will be included in the initial load:
• POLI-D-420 (24h) Employment, inequalities and social protection, given in the master's degree in labor sciences, aim of organization and administration of work, organized in Brussels.
• SOCA-D-528 (24h) Social and professional issues of continuous education policies, given in the master's degree in labor sciences, finality management of training and professional transition, organized in Brussels, in staggered hours.
A third course will be included in the course no later than three years after recruitment:
• SOCA-D-400 (24 hrs + 12 hrs practical work) Research methods in human sciences, given in the master's degree in labor sciences, finality management of training and professional transition, organized in Brussels, in staggered hours.
The candidate is invited to suggest a fourth course, possibly, in the field of sociology of social and professional integration.

The appointment to the academic staff of ULB is made at “Premier Assistant” level, if the candidate has had a PhD for less than eight years (on 1 October of the year of appointment). As of their appointment, members of academic staff are authorised to use the honorary title of ”Professeur”.
