The University of Bayreuth is a research-oriented university with internationally competitive, interdisciplinary focus areas in research and teaching. The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
at salary grade W3 to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
We are looking for a scholar with a strong track record in the field of empirical economic history. Candidates should have publications in leading international journals, relevant teaching experience, and experience in securing and managing third-party funded projects. Applications from all areas of quantitative economic history are welcome. The use of modern microeconometric methods is expected. A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research collaboration and the ability to relate to the research priorities of the faculty are expected.
Teaching responsibilities include core and elective courses in economics in the bachelor’s and master’s programmes offered by the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics. In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the bachelor’s and master’s programmes in economics, the master’s programme History & Economics, the interdisciplinary programmes involving economics, and teacher education. The successful candidate will also support the training of postgraduate students in the field of economics. An interest in helping to shape the degree programme portfolio would be welcome. The ability to teach in English is expected.
