The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine. Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens, in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.

The Signal Transduction Research Group in the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine (Prof. Dr. Stephanie Kreis), part of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), is currently looking for a research support technician for 12 months.

Your Role...

The selected candidate will support ongoing research projects centered around cell biology, molecular biology with a focus on calcium signalling in melanoma cancer cells.

Skills in handling cancer cells and knowledge and expertise in standard molecular biological methods such as tissue culture, qPCR, western blots, proliferation assays, imaging, immunofluorescence, FACS, etc. are necessary. The candidate will be part of research team focusing on calcium signalling in melanoma cells, embedded in the Signal Transduction group. The candidate must be proficient in English (working language in the research group).

What we expect from you…

  • Minimal degree: Bachelor's in biology/ biochemistry or related field
  • Language: English is a must, French or German in addition would be an asset
  • Ideally, previous professional experience at least as biological laboratory technician
  • Willingness to work in a team and adapt to experimental requirements
  • Problem solving mentality
