Doctoral Candidate starting from 1.1.2019
The position will be for a fixed term of maximum of four years. The position may be granted for a maximum of four years based on the stage of the applicant’s doctoral dissertation and postgraduate studies.
Department of Management and Entrepreneurship has three units: Entrepreneurship, Information Systems Science and Management and Organization. This Doctoral Candidate position is positioned in the subject of Information Systems Science. Our team consists of 3 full professors, tenure track and professor-of-practice, and part-time visiting professor with around 30 researchers and teachers. Our research project portfolio is extensive, from small short-time company cases to large projects with several stakeholders and partners, more information about the subject.
The position of a doctoral candidate is a postgraduate position. In addition to conducting doctoral dissertation research and postgraduate studies, tasks include taking part in teaching in the area of information systems science and other duties where appropriate. Teaching languages in the subject of information systems science are Finnish and English.
A person selected for the post of a Doctoral Candidate is required to have a relevant higher university degree and must have a study right for a doctoral degree at Turku School of Economics primarily in information systems science. Furthermore, good skills in English is required.
Who may apply:
The fixed-term doctoral candidate position is not intended for persons who already hold a doctoral degree, or who have received funding equivalent to the amount of 4 years of full-time research for completing a doctoral degree.
According to Section 39 of the University of Turku Rules of Procedure a person selected for the post of doctoral candidate is required to have a higher university degree and must have an accepted research plan. In addition, when acquiring his or her degree or otherwise, he or she is required to have demonstrated the ability and motivation to undertake postgraduate studies and the capacity to complete a doctoral degree in accordance with the research plan.
The post is subject to a six month trial period.
The salary for the post is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. The task specific salary component for the doctoral candidate is 2005,71 -2500,06 euros per month (according to level 2–4 of the job demands chart). In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The personal work performance component is a maximum of 46,3 % of the task specific salary component.
