Research Scientist / Senior Scientist, Electromobility (fixed-term)

We are now looking for Research / Senior Scientist to join our Electromobility team for a fixed-term period until 31.12.2025.

In this position, you will have an essential role in developing our expertise on charging infrastructure design, focusing especially on cost-effective, bi-directional and interoperable slow-charging solutions. Another focus area is megawatt charging systems aimed for electrification of heavy-duty vehicles such as electric trucks. You will be working in ambitious EU projects and national projects, contributing to a variety of topics such as use case definition, requirements specification, conceptualization of charging solutions as well as planning and implementation of demonstrations and testing of prototype solutions in our EV charging laboratory.
Our team, Electromobility works on the electrification of transport to tackle climate change by accelerating the shift from the use of fossil fuels towards sustainable transport. We work on electric vehicles and their components, and we have a strong focus on both experimental work and modelling of components and vehicles.

The position is fixed-term until 31.12.2025. Start of employment preferably in November or December 2024, at latest in January 2025.

Your responsibilities as Research / Senior Scientist:

• Advancing charging infrastructure design methodology development.
• Collaborating in research team and project group with co-writing and project work.
• Participating in new project preparations, especially within the Horizon Europe work programme.
• Participating actively in dissemination with journal publications and presenting results in conferences and seminars. 

Who we are looking for:

• You have at least a Master of Science (Tech.) degree in Electrical Engineering or similar related field. PhD is considered an asset.
• You are interested in electric vehicle research field and have knowledge of power electronics, electric vehicle charging systems, electrical powertrains, and related technologies.
• You preferably have some experience in project preparation or experience in coordinating, managing or applying for projects.
• You have an interest in scientific publication. Existing peer-reviewed publications are considered an asset.
• You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
