Your mission

We are looking to hire two highly skilled bioinformaticians on post-doctoral level to strengthen our research team. Your role will be to lead projects aimed at deepening our mechanistic understanding of ascending aortic aneurysm and heart valve disease and unravel the potential genetic contribution behind it. The tasks include analyzing large-scale research data, such as RNA-seq, proteomics, genomics, and epigenetic data, and integrate with clinical variables from patients. You will work closely in a team with molecular biologists, laboratory technicians, clinicians, PhD students, bioinformaticians, and other postdocs.

You are expected to actively contribute to the planning and design of the research project, as well as participate in teaching. We expect you to work in a diligent and responsible way.

You should have a strong understanding of relevant statistical methods.

You should be a creative and goal-oriented team player with a strong scientific drive and proven scientific track record. We expect you to be able to work independently and take a leading role in driving the project forward. Previous experience working with human genetic data and a background in the cardiovascular field is particularly meriting. Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and translational research is also highly valued

Strong communication skills in English, spoken and written, are required. Personal suitability for the group will be a strong selection criterion.
