Third-cycle subject: Fibre- and Polymer Science
The Division of Coating Technology at KTH Fibre and Polymer Technology announces a licentiate position in the Vinnova/Treesearch-funded project ”Green wood and particleboard adhesives based on side-streams from the pulp industry”. The research studies will be conducted at the Division of Coating Technology, which is a creative environment consisting of four professors, one associate professor, one researcher, three postdoctoral students and around twenty doctoral students and graduate workers with a strong group feeling. Our research has advanced polymer synthesis as a common denominator, focusing on traditional coating and glue applications as well as coating technology in biomedical materials. An important focus is to increase the use of renewable raw materials. Research results from the department are regularly published in high impact journals and presented at international conferences. The main supervisor of the licentiate in this call will be Professors Eva Malmström.

Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle studies may be employed as a doctoral student. The term of the initial contract may not exceed one year. The employment may be extended for a maximum of two years at a time. However, the total period of employment may not exceed the equivalent of four years of full-time study. Decisions on employment as a doctoral student may not be appealed.

Doctoral students should primarily devote themselves to their own education, but may engage in teaching, research, and administration corresponding to a maximum of 20 % of a full-time position.
