To strengthen our excellent team, we are looking for a research assistant (f/m/d) to support the ZANDR/Innovative cancer models lab (Innovative Cancer Models and ZANDR-Platform - St. Anna CCRI). We are using zebrafish larvae to model pediatric cancers and use state-of-the art imaging methods to investigate cellular interactions in tumor and tumor microenvironment. You will work together with a highly motivated team on pioneering drug screening in zebrafish larval xenograft models.

In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric cancer research and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

Your responsibilities

  • Laboratory work:
    • image acquisition and analyses at the advanced microscopy infrastructure of the ZANDR platform
    • molecular biology work (PCR, cloning, sample staining, low cytometry)
    • general lab tasks (e.g. preparation of buffers)
  • Support zebrafish facility: maintenance of zebrafish lines

Your profile

What you bring for this position: 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
  • Excellent technical skills (basic molecular biology, cell culture, statistics and data analysis)
  • Experience in microscopy and imaging techniques is an asset
  • Willingness to work with Zebrafish
  • Organizational skills and analytical thinking
  • High team spirit, motivation, attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
