About the LCSB

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and
in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary, and together we contribute to science and society.

Your role

The Developmental and Cellular Biology Group (led by Prof. Jens Schwamborn) at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine utilizes stem cells for modelling of neurodegenerative disease. Projects in the lab are at the interface of systems biology and bio-medical research. In particular, we aim on gaining new insights in the complex processes that regulate neurodegenerative processes.

Your profile

The candidate should have a strong interest in cell and neurobiology. Experience in the work with human stem cells, particularly induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), as well as experience in the handling of lab automation equipment would be a strong plus. The person must be proficient in English. Interest in general lab organization and management tasks, including the organization of databases and standard operating procedures, is essential for this role.
