We are now inviting applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) position in Industrial Management, especially in Industrial System Analytics. The position will be filled as a fixed-term position under the tenure track system.
Job description and requirements
The field of activity is industrial management with a special focus on Industrial System Analytics. Position is located in the School of Technology and Innovations.
We are looking for a promising researcher with demonstrated research capabilities and high potential. The prospective candidate needs to have a Doctoral degree in industrial engineering and management or a closely related field (e.g., management science). The candidate’s research focus is expected to fall within the broad area of technical and quantitative aspects of industrial engineering and management. The expected areas of expertise and interest ideally include, but are not limited to, the following:
The tenure track position is research-oriented, but also includes teaching, thesis supervision, applying for external research funding, and university administrative tasks. The teaching and supervision activities of the position are intended to support the study programmes of Industrial Management, especially the Industrial Systems Analytics Programme and the University of Vaasa doctoral programme.
The appointed tenure track will join the Networked Value Systems (NEVS) research group. In both research and teaching, we bring together diverse themes from business and engineering. These include operations and supply chain management, project business, digital manufacturing and quality management, technology and innovation management and the sustainable energy transition.
The annual working time is 1612 hours based on the general collective agreement for Finnish universities and tasks are agreed in more detail in the Annual Work Plan.

Research plan (max 5 pages): the research plan should detail the ways in which the candidate would direct their research from the perspective of their own discipline towards the focus of the position described in this call for applications and the strategic focus of the University of Vaasa’s research. The plan must include a description of the phenomena concerned, the perspective on the applicant's own subject and the added-value to be realized from analyzing the phenomena as well as possible partners. lt is beneficial if the plan also includes potential sources of external financing (programs or similar) and a publication plan.
Teaching portfolio (complementary to the teaching merits listed in the CV)

Copies of no more than 10 publications that the applicant wishes to be taken into account when evaluating their competence and qualifications. The publications can, if needed, be merged into a maximum of 7 pdf-files.
