The International Giessen Graduate School for the Life Sciences (GGL) provides an interdisciplinary, concisely structured graduate programme for all life science disciplines at the Justus Liebig University, in the fields of Human, Dental and Veterinary Medicine, Psychology and Sport Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Nutritional and Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Based on our diversity of disciplines and nationalities, we have built a comprehensive concept for doctoral research where your topic-oriented doctoral project is embedded in the multidisciplinary research background of the GGL.

We break down the traditional boundaries between groups and faculties. Today, the life sciences are one universe with a wealth of overarching methods. We facilitate access to methods and ideas across disciplines.

We teach professional skills early to promote your optimal career development. Today, the life sciences are highly competitive. Our doctoral education lays the foundation for a successful thesis as well as your future professional career.

We teach in English which enables us to admit students from all over the world. Today, the life sciences are an international endeavour. Therefore, our doctoral education is conducted in an atmosphere of intercultural awareness and based on the traditon of German excellence in science.
