Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (Neuro-PSI)

The Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (Neuro-PSI), joint Research Unit of the CNRS and Paris-Sud University, is developing fundamental and interdisciplinary aspects of the organization and functions of the nervous system, based on experimental and theoretical approaches at all scales of analysis. It will form, with its sister Institute NeuroSpin, the NeuroSaclay Center promoting Neuroscience at the highest international standards within the Paris-Saclay University.

The Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (Neuro-PSI) has been created on the 1st of January 2015. It is rooted mostly from the merging of Research Units at the Institute of Neurobiology Alfred Fessard (Neurobiology & Development, UPR 3294, and UNIC, FRE3693) and the Centre for Neuroscience Paris-Sud (UMR8195 CNRS-Université Paris Sud). Teams coming from the IBBMC (UMR8619 CNRS-Université Paris Sud) and LEBS (UPR3082, CNRS) have also joined Neuro-PSI.

Two other components will join after the completion of the new building in Saclay, the 1st January 2018, UNIC and one group coming from the Curie Institute in Orsay. Finally, two other Units are housed in the Building 32 at the Research Center of Gif-sur-Yvette, Amagen (UMS 3504 CNRS / UMS 1374 INRA) and BioEmergences (USR CNRS).

It is jointly supported by Paris-Sud University (U-Psud) and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). In 2017, it will be housed in a new building on the campus of the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA), on the Saclay Plateau, close to the NeuroSpin building, devoted to brain imaging and cognitive neuroscience.
